“Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya” popularly known a s “ JNV” is a fully residential & co-educational academic institution affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi(CBSE) with classes from VI to XII adopting a trilingual formula with vernacular as one of medium of instruction up to Class-IX.Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) , an Autonomous Organization is the apex regulatory body of these Vidyalayas Nation wide under the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. Quality modern education with Free-Base philosophy having a notion of All Round Development for students alongwith a strong component of culture, promotion of National Integration through student migration among Hindi and Non-Hindi speaking states in Class IX etc. are some of the salient features of this temple of knowledge.

The Library of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Morigaon(Assam) presently has a collection of 3602 books with the increasing number in each academic session. The noteworthy sections of the Library are Textbooks, Periodicals Reference Books Literature in three languages ,Fictions and General knowledge. Since the Vidyalaya aims at making learning in a healthy fun process, there is an assortment of books and magazines available on general topics and separate sections for hobby-related books, books on travel, animals and birds, short stories, drama, poetry, astrology, career guidance etc.

The Library  of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya,Morigaon is working in an Automated environment after the installation of e-Granthalaya(Version 2.0) software developed by National Informatics Centre, since 2007. The user-friendly software provides all kinds of features required to automate the in-house activities as well as different library services.
